What
While Cub Scout Pack 84 mainly serves Mountain View residents, members often come from neighboring cities such as Los Altos, Menlo Park, and Saratoga. Similarly, in addition to Stevenson Elementary, recent cubs have come from Mistral, Theuerkauf, Landels, Vargas, GISSV, YCIS, and St. Nicholas.

We have annual events such as our bike rodeo, ice cream making party, pinewood derby, Campsgiving, and ice skating social. Pack 84 has also gone on a variety of other adventures in recent history such as fishing, hiking, rock climbing, indoor skydiving, and overnighting at the Santa Cruz boardwalk, California Academy of Sciences, and Monterey Bay Aquarium.

CUB SCOUTING

DO YOUR BEST

Cub Scouts is a year-round program that offers fun activities that promote character and leadership development. Our program is designed to be hands-on, and parents are encouraged to play an active role in our programs. Scouting embraces the outdoors through camping, hiking and water sports. We also focus on helping our communities through service projects, STEM development and building confident kids through our wide range of activities. The Cub Scout program is designed to develop physical, mental and emotional fitness. Fitness includes the body (well-tuned and healthy), the mind (able to think and solve problems), and the emotions (self-control, courage, and self-respect).
Character Development
The mission of the Scouts BSA is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.
Outdoor Experiences
Cub Scouts enjoy many outdoor experiences as they participate in the variety of activities that can be held outside, such as field trips, hikes, nature and conservation experiences, and outdoor games.
Confidence Building
Scouting promotes activities that lead to personal responsibility and high self-esteem. As a result, when hard decisions have to be made, peer pressure can be resisted and the right choices can be made.
Leave this world a little better than you found it.
— Robert Baden-Powell, founder of the worldwide Scout Movement
